Thank you all for the congrats on my promotion! For my #MSWL, I'd love to see more big diverse family sagas like @anndcardinal's The Storyteller's Death. I'd also love a high concept, high heat romance that is akin to what @katee_robert is doing with her Dark Olympus series.
If you’ve got a middle grade or YA high-concept fantasy where the diverse cast of protagonists try their best to be good and kind in the face of evil, like in THE DRAGON PRINCE, my inbox is open! #mswl
In YA, i still love most genres and everything from light to dark. I love hope and depth and humor and stories that can change lives, whether from joy or empathy and validation. More specifically:
1. Super high concept contemporary and speculative contemporary
#mswl cont ⬇️
2. Commercial fantasy adventure series, ensemble casts with or without a talking creature or two
4. Contemporary family stories
5. LOL high concept, character-strong stories
6. Hooky, character-driven contemporary series

#MSWL Middle Grade Mystery w/a girl protag! Think THE INHERITANCE GAMES but for middle grade (not that exact concept; I’m just giving an example of 🔥-high-concept mystery). Fast plotting. Short chapters. Chapter cliff hangers, pls. Commercial but some emotional nuance too pls!
I have a spot on my list for a fresh, high-concept historical romance series! Print potential for the right book/sales track. Agents, authors…who has a yummy Regency, Highlander, or Viking series for me to devour?#MSWL (see pinned tweet)

#MSWL Especially high concept uplit with characters in their early to mid 20s.
1: High-concept contemporary is what’s making my heart sing right now. I recently read SHINE by Jessica Jung and devoured it. That said, hints at the speculative are always special for me. (Focus on hints.)
“I am interested in a variety of YA genres: contemporary, magical realism, horror, mystery, thriller, and light fantasy. I enjoy literary prose combined with a strong voice and high concept.” @msmariavicente #MSWL mariavicente.com/representation
3) High-concept YA contemporary or contemporary-with-a-twist, especially if it comes with an irreverent, self-referentially funny voice. Sarcastic or endearingly self-deprecating humor to the front of the line. I love a protagonist who feels like a co-conspirator.
near-future, high-concept SCI-FI with a literary bent, that dissects our own world more clearly through another—looking for hopeful postapocalypses, dystopian utopias, Gibsonian cyberpunk from new perspectives #mswl

Megan Carroll @MeganACarrollWe are reopening our #submissions tomorrow (eeeek!) so I thought I’d go through what I’m looking for this year in a hopefully helpful thread. #MSWL
In fiction I’d love to see high concept love stories for both commercial and reading group/literary crossover readers. I’m keen to see historical fiction and gothic horror - think Stacey Halls, Laura Purcell and Bridget Collins.
I’m looking for YA fantasy that is ownvoices/by marginalized voices! MENA authors, Black authors, queer authors, send me some! I love commercial fiction that’s character driven, with voice that drips off the page, high concept and tightly plotted. I’m an avid fantasy reader #MSWL
