I really really want some dark academia/secret society/cult books. Whether it’s gothic and horror, fantasy or mystery, I NEED this in my life. ‼️‼️

I am continuing to scream into the void for POCs writing/centered in horror, thrillers, mysteries, and suspense. I want the Mexican Gothic, Jordan Peele, Alexis Henderson vibes

We’d also love to see some dual timeline novels involving secrets and objects from the past, or gothic settings with hints of the supernatural – think MEXICAN GOTHIC and THE FAMILIARS.

Growing up Spiritualist (yes, I did!), an Edwardian/Victorian YA or adult with a supernatural or fantasy twist is welcome (we can lean into Gothic, too!) #MSWL

What I would really find special would be a destination horror. For example, the Island of the Dolls in Mexico City would be an amazing setting. Give me more that the typical US spots. The darker, creepier, and more gothic it is...the better.

#MSWL: Gothic. Give me YA, Adult, anything that speaks to the atmosphere of du Maurier, Jackson, Hill, Purcell, or Waters. Looking for the perfect cross between feminine and terrifying.

In historical fiction, I would love something witchy and gothic. My taste tends towards under-represented voices from history, rather than a regency court romance. I'd love historical fiction by black and Asian voices. I love historical +mystery, or historical +love story.
