Lisa Amstutz @LJAmstutzI'm excited to share that I will be opening to queries again on 10/5! My guidelines are on the @StormLiterary website. #amagenting
i also love narrative nonfiction that blends personal experience with investigative reporting or cultural criticism—Gabriela Wiener, Jenny Odell, Hanif Abdurraqib, and Rebecca Solnit are all favorites—and i'd love to see more food writing like THE WAY WE EAT NOW
Non-fiction from those with a strong platform, especially written by BIPOC creators. Can be a unique perspective regarding art, science, food, current issues, mental health, etc.
- History & historical fiction that centers marginalized perspectives!
- Charming, Agatha Christie-esque mysteries!
- Stories exploring the impact of immigration!
- Friendship stories! Whimsical romps! Fun & fast-paced adventures!
- FOOD! Forever & always food!
And of course…
This one could be because I want tacos, but give me food #MSWL. Either a magic system based on food, or a enemies to lovers about rival taco trucks. Heck it doesn't even have to be about tacos. (I just want to eat this taco image).
I want to be introduced to new worlds and want more books set outside the US. I'm from MN and always want more books set there. Food is a big thing for me. Give me rich, detailed & mouth-watering descriptions of food #MSWL
🎉Happy to announce I've joined @starryforestbks as an editor! Take a peek at my #MSWL to find out what I'm looking for: manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/anna…

Any Romance that is set in Italy, France, Greece, Croatia or Scotland. Can there be food involved and a ramshackle whiskey distillery, old vineyard or run-down brewery? #MSWL
Happy #UPColorado Thursday!
A little #mswl: I'm (@AllegraMartsch) looking 4 scholars researching food co-ops + community gardening among marginalized ppls as a method of #envirojustice. Would ❤️ an interdisciplinary lens. If you know someone working in this area let me know!
Narrative nonfiction (all categories):
- Geek culture
- Food & Wine books; or tie food & wine to travel
- Science (especially if it's space-driven or about tech advancements)
- History (especially those by and about underrepresented voices in US History) (6/6) #mswl
Food books! All ages! Fiction or non! I've been working for Food & Wine mag for 6 years; I have a massive collection of weird old cookbooks; I am obsessed with culinary history & postwar cookery from an anthropological perspective, & I want to work on your food books.
Adult: Narrative nonfiction/memoir about food, Southern culture, adventure, extreme sports, journeys, science/medicine, from perspectives we have not seen before/enough of & whose narratives tackle bigger-picture subjects alongside personal narratives.
