So let's talk graphic novel #MSWL ahead of me opening on 6/1. Below are just a small sample of some of my talented clients and their work. For graphic novels, art is such a big part of it for me. pic.twitter.com/nePULFddzM
But you don't have to be an illustrator to give me graphic novels. I also love script only graphic novels #MSWL.
One thing I have noticed about my taste is I read for escape. I lean towards fantasy, or contemporary-elevated (which is not my regular every day).

I'd love to see more upmarket/literary fantasy in my inbox, a la TEN THOUSAND DOORS, UPROOTED, A DARKER SHADE. I'm particularly drawn to books that play with fairytales and folklore, but I'm looking for anything that draws me in w/ great characters and excellent writing. #mswl

Like many of us in these strange times, I’ve been taking comfort in books. And it’s made me think of the kinds of stories I want to champion. Most of this won’t be a surprise, but for what it’s worth, here’s my current #MSWL:
YOUNG ADULT
- high-concept, darkly comic modern fables with literary writing and crossover appeal like THE PISCES or GEEK LOVE
- eerie and atmospheric fantasies inspired by non-Western mythology
- sweet contemporary rom-coms about QPOC main characters

I don’t even know what I mean when I say I want a YA or Adult SFF with the vibe of the “Rain On Me” video, but I want it #MSWL
(Also, at first I misheard the lyrics as “I’d rather be drunk but at least I’m alive,” and thought that was a bold truth)

Are there any SFF stories/novels about a pandemic that mostly kills white people (e.g. the reverse of the one we're living now) & its effects on society? If not, & a BIPOC writer wants to write it for YA: #MSWL

I'm constantly catching up on queries (which have gone up 200% since the pandemic hit). One category I'd love to see more of are graphic novels for kids and teens. Contemporary/fantasy/historical. Always diverse voices! Especially if an author/illustrator. #MSWL

Here is my #mswl darleyandersonblog.com/2020/02/25/mee… Generally, outside of crime, things that are uplifting & are about finding/making connections. High concept, feel-good, love stories. And across children's uplifting again, funny, things inspired by kindness and nature.

I just re-opened to queries. I had closed for a few weeks. If you have a submission with me, I'm working on reading everything. My reopening to queries doesn't mean I've caught up all reading! 😊 Please see: knightagency.net/submissions pic.twitter.com/Eocb6m7AWWSo what do I want to find, you may ask? Well #amagenting, #amwriting peeps, bring me your fiction right now. Romcom/chick lit, humor, feel-good, queer lit, ya and ya-crossover...hockey/sports. Sports romance. Ya fantasy and romcom. Really want to find queer teen lit. #mswl.

Possibly a weird #mswl request, but I've been thinking about it today:
I'd love to add a book to my list with the same unnerving, pervasive, looming dread that Majora's Mask gave me. A secondary-world or portal fantasy where the atmosphere is just slightly off-kilter

Writers, I'd really like to see a fantasy or thriller set in the Restoration or other different time periods. #pubtip

#MSWL Would love to see some YA high fantasy that's not super complex / end-of-the-world serious.Gimme a queer rom-com between a blacksmith and an adventurer who keeps breaking their equipment or something, idk. Surprise me!
Something that gives me those silly D&D vibes 😉❤️
This 👇As much as I love dark fantasy with high stakes, I'd love some lighter, even funny fantasy! #MSWL
