I’d love to see more/better mental illness rep in horror. As an anxious person, I’d particularly kill to see protagonists dealing with panic attacks and anxiety while having to fight for their lives.

I'm also often drawn to books with strong water elements. Moody lighthouse keepers! Sleepy coastal towns! Ship captains! Merpeople! If there's lots of fog and salt air, I'm likely to be intrigued. (This goes for both romance and mystery.) #MSWL

More #MSWL: YA with "high stakes" low stakes a la Sally Rooney with a relationship that is so emotionally charged that one text or e-mail might just mean the end of the world. Across all genres, not just contemporary!
