#mswl (for agents) I'm looking for magical realism all along the spectrum from THE NIGHT CIRCUS to Helen Oyeyemi. I'm also looking for funny novels with sharp teeth and voicey novels with international settings (beyond UK, though those are of course welcome)

Stabby girls and sunshine boys. I don't care what genre. I don't care if it's adult or YA. Just more of that dynamic pls thank you #MSWL

I desperately want more LGBTQ+ characters and themes in horror. Give me LGBTQ+ protagonists grappling with gender and sexuality while also dealing with monsters/ghosts/murderers/etc. #MSWL

All right, all right, one last one. I don't know exactly how you could execute this and make it a romance, but I am VERY into Succession right now so I'm going to throw "rich and extremely dysfunctional family with twisted but loving sibling dynamics" out there. #MSWL

I would LOVE to edit a satirical MG or YA novel about student government. Think Mean Girls meets Wag the Dog. Or, like, Election without the gross teacher. #MSWL

I want the next Losers Club fighting evil together, but female-centric and huge bonus points for two of the girls falling head-over-heels for each other #MSWL

I'm also often drawn to books with strong water elements. Moody lighthouse keepers! Sleepy coastal towns! Ship captains! Merpeople! If there's lots of fog and salt air, I'm likely to be intrigued. (This goes for both romance and mystery.) #MSWL

More #MSWL: YA with "high stakes" low stakes a la Sally Rooney with a relationship that is so emotionally charged that one text or e-mail might just mean the end of the world. Across all genres, not just contemporary!

Give me something like the Crowley/Aziraphale pairing dynamic in Good Omens, but overt romance. (Yes, even more overt than that.) Doesn't have to be paranormal—I'm talking loose character types here. #MSWL

I would be remiss if I didn't talk a little bit about how much I love fake relationships. Other fave tropes include one bed (🛏️), opposites attract, return to hometown, and road trip. (Can you include them all?!) #MSWL

Magical realism is a thing I absolutely love. Think Practical Magic, but more romance. #MSWL

Some of my favorite romance tropes include enemies to lovers, marriage/relationship of convenience, and forced proximity. If the characters are annoyed by how into each other they are, the book is probably for me! #MSWL
