If a Hanna-esque thriller/suspense came across my inbox right now, I’d be very okay with that. #mswl

Aunt Polly was a hot-headed tornado caged by patriarchy, enraged behind every blink of her eye & was smarter than all the murderous Peaky Blinders lumped together. If you've written a Historical Thriller abt a female crime boss that rivals her energy, I want to read it.

"Dark, twisted, borderline disturbing… words I’d use to describe my interest in thrillers. Not looking for gore at the moment, but definitely into psychological elements. Especially fictionalized accounts of actual crimes." @claire_m_harris #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

2. Older YA, especially if you have a story about a teen who elects not to go to college
3. Hopeful, funny, romantic
4. Emotionally-fraught, grounded thrillers and mysteries
5. Paranormal!!

“Young Adult: historical fiction, LGBTQ+ romance, a story about a boy band, mysteries and thrillers, magical realism with gorgeous prose, a novel-in-verse, experimental story structure.” @msmariavicente #MSWL mariavicente.com/representation

#MSWL Would really love to see a thriller where the person being pursued is just as ruthless as the pursuant. A real "oh you messed with the wrong woman." Has been trained in combat, is a recreational fighter, HOME ALONE style traps—give me all of it. In both YA and adult.

-locked room mysteries/thrillers with a big cast of characters
- I like historical-set fiction but only if it is a genre I love (horror, rom com, etc) set in a different time period #MSWL 4/7
Editor
-what I'm calling the "rom dram," or romantic drama, with deep emotional conflict, rather than plot-driven drama
-social thrillers and horror w. commercial pacing, but have a deeper level of weight to them about something that occupies the social consciousness today #MSWL 3/7
