Happy #feelgoodfriday! This story from the summer has been on my mind as next week is #mentalhealthawarenessweek. I loved seeing these kids take a stand for students’ #mentalhealth and making a positive change in Oregon #kidlit #MSWL

I’m always talking about wanting to see books that represent my culture, but the other day I went out to dinner w a friend and her daughter who also happens to be a type 1 diabetic. And I don’t see many books who represent this part of my identity.

So my #MSWL would be a book where one of the characters have a chronic illness (like diabetes) but not where the plot is all about them having the illness. It’s just a character trait & sometimes you have to deal with it but mostly you just live & love & have GMC unrelated to it.

Happy 14 years of being a type 1 diabetic to me!!! With my agency's recent relaunch, I guess it's a good time to note I'd love to see some manuscripts with type 1 diabetic protagonists - or chronic illness, disability, neurodiversity rep in general. #mswl

where is my suspense-driven womxn-powered YA heist story that centers on sisterhood, smarts, and femininity instead of cattiness, competition, or men?! oh @HustlersMovie is fantastic btw #mswl

I also refute the YA is dead nonsense. It just needs some love #SCBWIchat twitter.com/guppybooks/sta…

I so agree with this. It does need to be special. The market is super-competitive. But stand-out YA will find a home. Send me your YA love stories and unreliable narrators! :-) #scbwichat #mswl

#A6 PB: texts with a strong narrative arc, whether funny or lyrical, and a clear theme that young children can relate to. #mswl #scbwichat #scbwicon19

#A6 Illustrators: so hard to define what you’re looking for here! But a portfolio full of animal and child characters in a distinctive, consistent style is always exciting to see. #mswl #scbwichat #scbwicon19

#A6 I’d love to find an exciting MG mystery/detective story, especially if it’s funny too! I’m also always on the lookout for great YA with an unreliable narrator or an intense and overwhelming love story. #SCBWIchat #mswl

Hi #Kidlit Twitter! I'm looking for some short stories, like 5,00-10,000 words. Got something great you couldn't publish because it was too short? Consider @audible_com! #MSWL
