Writers, agents: I would REALLY like a quality biographical #ownvoices picture-book MS about Bayard Rustin -- one that honors his integrity & complexity. Hook me up in 2019? #MSWL npr.org/2019/01/06/682โฆ

What happens when Walmart, Amazon, and all the world's retail giants move into one tiny town? I went to Elwood, IL, to report on the precarious, tax-abated hell that is living in warehouseland, where all our stuff is stored.newrepublic.com/article/152836โฆ
#MSWL: any MG or YA set in "warehouseland."

I am not an agent or an editor, so I'm just throwing it out there for writers who do humor better than me:I would kill for a YA book that captured the tone and feeling of the late great tv show Dead Like me.
selfishly expanding this into a #mswl for adult SFF that hits that Dead Like Me sweet spot of charming sardonic & reserved w/a deep undercurrent of heartbreak & stunning empathy that will break into the main storyline without warning. high concept but make it lump in your throat

#MSWL keep the psychological suspense coming, especially with unreliable narrator. Biggest hurdle with this is keeping reader in dark, finding too many that are easy to guess. Please thrill me!

It's January, which means it's cold & gray & I hate leaving the house, so send me your work to keep me company! #MSWL: would love a more literary thriller a la THE TWELVE LIVES OF SAMUEL HAWLEY or BARBED WIRE HEART; writing from marginalized writers a la THE LEAVERS orAnother #MSWL for 2019 from Team DG&B!

Also, please, as ever: any "big think" nonfiction. I'm fascinated by investigative journalism (I loved DREAMLAND by Sam Quinones); tech, pop science, pop psychology, and anything with a feminist lens (currently reading GOOD AND MAD by Rebecca Traister & loving it). #MSWL

#mswl Would love to see a contemporary YA where the protagonist has unusual career aspirations.

THE WANGS VS. THE WORLD; smart, female-driven speculative fiction (mobs a plus); gritty YA in the vein of SADIE or THE WALLS AROUND US #MSWL

Today @jcon713 told @Jorjorbiinks and I that we were dressed like two Victorian women out to solve a murder, which A) is how I would like my clothing aesthetic to be described forevermore, and B) Uhhhhh... #MSWL

For every #mglit author of adventure, fantasy, & sci-fi who is seeing your book left off lists of adults' favorites: Our books are often considered less serious because of our genresโbut they're the books that often stay in kids' minds, the books that kids reread. Courage.I love this thread. It speaks exactly to the kind of books I love and want to work on and why I want to work on them. #MSWL
