I am just gonna say it: I want a TURNING RED comp #MSWL
Editor
I watched Turning Red yesterday and I think I might watch it again today?? The friendship, the aunties, the extreme muchness of thirteen-year-old girls, I want it alwayssss #mswl
Editor
Only accept agented manuscripts, FYI. All these #MSWL ramblings are just me thinking out loud... especially if it helps inspire a writer (even if I never see it) 😁

And is there something around Día de Muertos and God/faith that would make for a good kids book? #MSWL

Random #MSWL... a kids book about Mardi Gras and its connection to Lent/preparing for Lent.

There's so much to love about #TurningRed but one of the many things it does well is explore puberty for girls in a really engaging way. I desperately want to see this in the MG space, give me books that deal with puberty for girls in all its awkward and funny ways #MSWL

And brief #MSWL moment: I’d love to find even more page-turning novels of complex joy that honor rather than blunt life’s sharper edges. I’m seeking too more literary & upmarket fiction from international writers whose stories are site-specific yet universally resonant. 💜

We need to flood (heh) the mg market with stories about periods until men are as comfortable with the subject as I had to be at 13 with why tissues and hand lotion might be on a teen boy's bedside table #mswl

Rachel Stuhler @RachelStuhler
@jhernandezbooks I have to go looking for it, but I read an infuriating paper about how the image of the 1950s mom was specifically curated to put women back in the home. That the happy homemaker didn’t really exist prior to WWII. They destroyed women’s psyches for the betterment of men & knew itOh shit. If you could take this and make it witchy or something ... #mswl

Because @EmilyCroyBarker cannot write ALL such books, please, #queryingauthors, sending me smart witchy adult novels! I have a craving. #mswl
