I enjoy pop culture, and I’m not immune to the charms of film and TV. I especially enjoy TCM and Criterion and quirky smart horror comedies 9/

I want to walk away from every book having learned something new, and love being inspired by personal stories in both fiction and nonfiction. I am invigorated by lost or alternate histories 8/

I delight in being hooked by a high concept and a clever premise, but that creative vision needs strong character development and an attention to every word. I love gorgeous writing AND plot! 6/

Self-help as a genre really doesn’t get the respect it deserves. I’m proud of the *TWO* self-help books I’ve written but I’ve on more than one occasion have gotten the feeling that folk discount them as not being “real” books worth being taken seriously. It stinks.Agree. Self-help is on my #MSWL
