in fiction and nonfiction, I particularly want to see more BIPOC, disabled, LGBT+ authors (though please don't feel pressured to disclose anything you're not comfortable with)
more indigenous/non-Western culture, mythology, and tropes
adult books only!
I'm NOT looking for PB, MG, YA, NA or kid lit in any form. I'm also NOT looking for romance or poetry or historical fiction.
(no, your book will not be the one that convinces me to rep [category I don't rep], and I won't/can't respond to those queries, sorry.)
Kim @kim_lindmanhere’s a (highly incomplete) thread of my favorite books! #amquerying authors, if your manuscript could be comped to any of these, you should definitely query me!
I've updated this thread with some of my favorite books, for comps, etc
novels with contemporary settings need to contain at least one of the following elements: mystery, suspense, thriller, horror, or any kind of speculative something
Kim @kim_lindmanwhen I reopen to queries, I'm hoping to see a lot more nonfiction! investigative journalism, cookbooks, self-help, climate/environment, + anything that makes a niche subject accessible to a broad audience
I really, really want to see more nonfiction!

Stonesong @StonesongNYCTHE ART OF BOB MACKIE by Frank Vlastnik and Laura Ross got a great feature in @bookpage's Pop Culture Panorama round up
Literally every book in this article is the type of book I want for my list! #MSWL
today's Stained Page News reminded me how much I love unexpected crossovers (like coding and cooking!), so #MSWL for nonfiction crossovers b/w subjects (esp, food and the environment!)
Nneka M. Okona 🇳🇬 @afrosypaellaSelf-help as a genre really doesn’t get the respect it deserves. I’m proud of the *TWO* self-help books I’ve written but I’ve on more than one occasion have gotten the feeling that folk discount them as not being “real” books worth being taken seriously. It stinks.
Agree. Self-help is on my #MSWL
A #MSWL reminder that I DO NOT REP ROMANCE. my heart is cold and dead and your book is not going to change that (I've tried). But, DO send me your anti-romances like Kevin Can F*** Himself or Paulo Coelho's ADULTERY
