I am down to zero queries & three subs in my query box. (I hope to hit inbox zero by July 1, but time will tell.) Either way, I'm looking forward to opening to queries July 1! Here's a little #MSWL for when I reopen:#amquerying #writingcommunity #amagenting
1. Food-centric fic & nonfic. I would love to see narrative nonfic deep dives into culinary history & people whose stories haven't been told. Essay collections about food intersecting with culture, politics, social justice. & in fic, MG, YA, & adult fic where food plays a role.

One of my favorite things about Jesus is how much he loved to celebrate. Not only did he regularly meet folks at the table, but he was entirely indiscriminate in those he partied with. I imagine this is one of the things that made folks curious- made so many want to follow him.
This would be a GREAT base for a picture book! Authors, agents... 👀 #mswl

I would really love an adult domestic suspense with a more pop/upbeat tone! Not everything HAS to be dark and gritty (even if it’s my natural home). Fuck, let’s get some Jawbreaker vibes up in here, writers! Not just a sardonic alcoholic with witty barbs - actual hilarity! #mswl

How about a twist on a trope? Maybe everyone loves the supernaturals instead of fears them when they come out and they have to deal with being superheroes? #MSWL Check requirements here: bit.ly/2SNuKt0 Before sending here: bit.ly/LGEditor

Are there any books (or if anyone wants to pitch me one! query(at)psliterary(dot)com) about mixed up internet identities in a fun way (two people with the same name getting each others' emails and what not)? I'd be interested in a romcom or upmarket fiction in that space! #mswl

"My favorite nonfiction titles are story-based. Think case studies that read like compelling tales. Just because a book explores serious themes doesn’t mean it shouldn’t also hook the reader from page one!" @ceciliaclyra #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

My #MSWL these days: Fiction: Adult Suspense, YA contemporary (any subgenre), YA and MG Graphic Novels.
Nonfiction: Pop Culture, or Narrative Nonfiction that reads like a novel, but is 100% researched. I remain open to other stuff, but the above is what I really want.

Anyway. I love historical fiction dripping with power and rebellion and sex and drama. My queries are open. Send me your work, writers of color! #mswl
