I’d love to have a YA set in Ancient Egypt. It can be historical, or a YA fantasy with magic, and gods and all the details. This is something I’ve always wanted to read! Send me some! #MSWLReally looking for that own voices Ancient Egyptian fantasy! #MSWL

my only evermore take atm is that I would very much like someone to write me a 'tis the damn season novel about a celebrity returning to her small hometown during the liminal week between xmas and new years and making out with her townie ex. Big Sweet Home Alabama energy. #mswlok so I’ve come to the realization that this is the plot of the 2005 masterpiece Just Friends so I guess... #mswl: Just Friends, without the fatphobia and ideally, queer

It’s a weird goal, but I really want to be known as the middle grade horror queen literary agent extraordinaire (flashy title, ha!). I love MG horror. I love how it stretches kids. How it can be used as a vehicle for talking about things like anxiety, grief & other big emotions. So send me your MG horror #MSWL when I reopen. I’m picky as all get-out, so the road is narrow. And obviously if I sign several authors in the same genre, they have to have different flavors to set them apart. But I want to see it.

These sorts of discoveries are so amazing! I want to read more nonfiction books about these sorts of things and would love to see more science/animal nonfiction proposals in my QueryManager #mswl #science cbc.ca/news/canada/no…

That Elle Story reminds me of a column I read ages ago that I think about a lot: the writer posited that the reason humans develop intense, irrational, obsessive crushes isn’t to get us into relationships — it’s to get us *out of* relationshipsBIG #MSWL for me: a book by a psychologist or journalist with a platform on how and what limerence activates for women.
So many of us spend decades (or entire lifetimes) only able to perceive our own ambitions, hunger, and desires in the form of our crushes on other people.

I am still getting a large number of books that revolve around murder. My first reaction was frustration, but honestly, after giving it some consideration I think this could be a communication failure on my part. I'm going to be even more explicit with my guidelines. (1/5) #MSWL

I know an all female Lord of the Flies type of retelling has been done, but I’d love one similar to The Wilds where each of the girls are unapologetically messy and broken before they land on the island. This show is surprisingly great (minus the Dr. Klein aspect). #MSWL

YESSo much of the innovative stuff we need to do in the food system is basically sci-fi?
We couldn't just have speculative fiction epics about resurrection forests & floating ocean cities built on living electrified reef
We could be *doing* that shit if we talked about it. twitter.com/jonrog1/status…

Doesn’t have to be SFF, but I’m *dying* to see more stories filled with nuanced, powerful female characters in 2021! #mswl
