OK, #MSWL time. In Adult, I want SUSPENSE, especially centering women, queer characters, and BIPOC. I prefer smaller scale, with high personal stakes.

I'm not the right fit for detectives/police/military or ppl running around the world trying to stop [insert catastrophic thing]

In Adult, I'd love to see:

First and foremost, I'm building an inclusive list with a variety of voices and genres. I'm looking for BIPOC authors, queer authors, disabled authors, and generally, authors from historically excluded backgrounds.

* Stories with trans characters—that do NOT have to center around their inviting others into their world (coming out) but I’m open to those stories too. This goes with all LGBTQIA+ stories
* Stories with non-binary characters
* Stories that subvert toxic masculinity

* Flawed yet loveable characters
* Morally questionable women—We have characters like Joe and Dexter who people love, we should get to have female characters like this too
* Stories that make me laugh AND cry

Today feels like a good day to remind trans writers that I'm always looking to amplify LGBT voices. I might be closed to queries right now, but when I open back up, check out my #mswl and send me your stuff if you think I'm the right fit for you and your work!

Just a reminder that I (and many other editors!) are eager to acquire and amplify trans voices. Agents, I’m always looking for picture books, graphic novels, and MG/YA novels that uplift the trans community 🏳️‍⚧️ No more room in this world or on our pub lists for bigotry & hate!

#MSWL for trans voices in speculative #A or #YA that comps @ryka_aoki's The Light from Uncommon Stars. I'm blown away not just by the voice, but by the originality of the story, the heart, the narrative scope. It's breathtaking. We need more trans joy in SFF. Send them my way.

Anything that deals with, examines, or plays with gender — I want to see it. YA, NA, and A are all welcome. I want to read stories from disabled writers, from queer writers, from Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian writers.

I'd love to see more submissions from trans women and trans feminine folks. I'm currently considering YA, NA, and adult romance books. I love fantasy, contemporary books, and women's fiction. I'm not too keen on horror, thrillers, and suspense #MSWL

I would really love to see more adult projects in my inbox. #MSWL -- especially:
