Happy Tuesday! Here's your BookEnds #MSWL for today: "In YA & MG, Naomi is always on the hunt for strong fantasy with edgy themes and exciting, realistic voices . . . contemporary stories featuring powerful friendships. "

Overall I'm looking for mysteries (cozy or not), adult and ya romcoms, fantasy, thriller, sci fi and horror, but here are a few concepts and ideas that I'm specifically interested in lately:

My manuscript wish list profile is now live! Head on over to see if I would be a good match for your story! manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/nina… #MSWL

“Luscious sci-fi and fantasy middle grade like The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill and Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee.” @agentvicente #MSWL mariavicente.com/representation

A YA fantasy with original, compelling worldbuilding – think RF Kuang, Tomi Adeyemi or Ciannon Smart. I want magic and danger and hearts-in-mouths, but above all I want it to feel new #MSWL

MG/YA: Fantasy is another first love! Everything from contemporary fantasy to high fantasy & epic fantasy. I LOVE unique world-building!
I'd also like lighter, even funny fantasy where the stakes aren't about saving the world, but adventure & characters. More Hobbit than LOTR.

MG: This is the area I'd most like to expand!

YA: My first love! I'm always looking for YA that stands out.
Select adult SFF & horror.
Always open to author-illustrators & graphic novels. Plus @DanieleDHunter & I LOVE novels-in-verse! We tend toward lyrical writing generally.

"Sci-fi & fantasy novels. I love them. I read a ton of them. But they have to be accessible. What does that mean? It means that readers who don't traditionally pick up much sci-fi/fantasy, can pick up one of these novels & enjoy it.” @ericsmithrocks #MSWL ericsmithrocks.com/mswl

Hey, everyone! I've gotten a lot of questions about opening to queries, so it seems a lot of you have things you'd like to send my way!

I'm open to queries from now through the end of November. Send me your #F and #SF in #A & #YA. and check my #MSWL at erniechiara.com/mswl.

Yep, open to queries!
On my #MSWL: adult SFF, MG (particularly fantasy), YA (also particularly fantasy, but I love contemporary too), and PB. I'm looking for exciting new projects and dynamic voices. Surprise the heck outta me.

I'd love to see more urban fantasy/paranormal romance that doesn't rely on traditional government bureaucracy or law enforcement structures! I'm a little worn out on magical P.I.s and supernatural government agents. #MSWL

Last night I procrastinated so much on Actual Things (cleaning? life? etc) that I made myself a website 👀 taragonzalez.com

#MSWL I’d love more queer and other diverse YA and MG fantasy in my inbox, please! Something with a great hook, voicey writing, and/or easily accessible world building. I want characters who make me HAVE to read on. (Agented submissions only.)

I just did a MASSIVE update to my #MSWL page to hopefully clear up some questions about what I'm looking for. Authors, if your book seems like a good fit, let's chat!

My inbox has 0 epic fantasy submissions from Canadian authors right now. Something is wrong. #mswl

#MSWL Anything paranormal, sci-fi, or fantasy WITH ROMANCE! (The hotter, the better.) Voice and skilled writing will always trump everything else, so if you have something I haven't asked for specifically, but the writing/voice is stellar, please send it anyway!

GIVE ME HIGH FANTASY ELLE WOODS PLEASE #mswl

The top three things I'd love to see more of in my query inbox, in no particular order 📚 #MSWL

1. Romance of any subgenre, especially if it's queer or polyamorous
2. Contemporary fantasy with unique magic systems and lore
3. Gothic horror, particularly from marginalized voices
