On my #MSWL: Interesting locations/settings, stand alone (with tie-in novel potential) #UrbanFantasy with strong romantic elements. Well written and highly polished is a must!

"Sci-fi & fantasy novels. I love them. I read a ton of them. But they have to be accessible. What does that mean? It means that readers who don't traditionally pick up much sci-fi/fantasy, can pick up one of these novels & enjoy it." @ericsmithrocks #MSWL

Looking for an #ownvoices Bollywood-esque Desi story! YA or Adult! I want that romance! Bonus on the YA if it’s fantasy! #mswl

Other things that make my agent heart sing: high concepts, voicey narration, fantasy (especially with a unique twist), lush historical settings, fresh paranormal, boarding schools, sister stories, falling in & out of friendship, dark & atmospheric, setting as character. #MSWL

Right now I really want to see more soft fantasy. Soft characters, soft world, soft magic. If the story had a physical shape, it would be plushie. #MSWL

I really want a modern Fantasy romance. Elves and magic in University but with cell phones. #MSWL

A sweeping MG or YA fantasy with epic stakes, bold themes, lush writing, and relatable characters. Bonus points for series potential. MG and YA fantasy is always at the top of my #MSWL and in these times, I especially want to lose myself in a smart, well-crafted world.

I can’t remember if I’ve said this before or not, but if anyone out there is writing MG contemporary fantasy you could comp to TOM’S MIDNIGHT GARDEN, please send it my way. #MSWL

#MSWL a YA fantasy HACKSAW RIDGE. This was a war movie that felt so different to me because of who Desmond Doss was.

More just we see alot of stabby stab in fantasy but what if there was a main character who said no. I just love how inspiring Doss was, saving lives. #MSWL #YA

Here’s a #MSWL for you: A YA or ADULT fantasy set in Paris or Prague or Budapest or something uniquely akin, with an MC who most definitely knows she’s badass & powerful & won’t hesitate to tell you exactly where you can stick your hero-complex. In my dreams, she’s ragingly pan.

Day 34: I have one solitary crisp, white eyebrow hair. Pajamas have fused to my body. I eat pickles for breakfast now.

Agents! I'm looking for manuscripts to boost everyone's spirits! Heart-warming MG! YA fantasy to get lost in! Funny or sweet PBs! #MSWL

-FUNNY stuff
-larger-than-life narrative voice
-MG fantasy series
-character ensembles
-YA after high school about teens not going to college
-family stories
-something that feels like a bottle episode

#MSWL - Anything that feels high concept and cinematic in YA, whether it’s sci-fi, fantasy, or contemporary with a speculative twist. Stories with big “what if” premises.

Peter Knapp @petejknapp · Apr 15

#MSWL - middle grade or YA graphic novel series, whether contemporary, contemporary with a twist of magic, or fantasy. Especially would love to find a great contemporary series with a great concept.
