"Sci-fi & fantasy novels. I love them. I read a ton of them. But they have to be accessible. What does that mean? It means that readers who don't traditionally pick up much sci-fi/fantasy, can pick up one of these novels & enjoy it." @ericsmithrocks #MSWL ericsmithrocks.com/mswl

WHY AM I NOT GETTING ALL THE BOOKS ABOUT LADY KNIGHTS?#MSWL! Bring me a story that is ALL ABOUT BRIENNE OF TARTH (but in a less-typical-medieval-style fantasy landscape with wildly original fantasy/magical elements)

Just found out that people from the Ivory Coast are called Ivorian. Now I want a fantasy set there. #obscuretaste #MSWL

#MSWL: I'd love a YA in the vein of #SeeYouYesterday. Set in the hot center of a contemporary American city. Give me the sounds, sights, flavors of the place, all in the middle of the summer. Make the stakes as high as THUG. Make it shine with magic/fantasy. Blend the genres.

2 for 2 so far: Emilia Clarke noting "She's not mad, she's traumatized" is an equally pointed departure from how the dudes insist on framing things.newyorker.com/culture/the-ne… pic.twitter.com/gaG5t3gM4v
I don't get to acquire much fantasy BUT WHEN I DO it's got female characters with nuance as well as grit, trauma fallout and mental health issues depicted realistically, and no dudes getting away with killing their girlfriends #MSWL
