#MSWL Unusual retellings, and fiction that has a mythic quality or creates new myths! Bonus points for morally gray protagonists, stories that open doors to secret knowledge or hidden worlds, and genre elements from fantasy to historical with a twist, spec fic, and literary-commercial fiction.

Right now, the largest % of queries I receive are for the fantasy genre. Which is great, I love fantasy, but I also want my list to be balanced. So I would *really* love to see more queries in other genres: romcom, horror, mystery, historical, magical realism, graphic novel, etc. #MSWL

Happy #MSWL to all! This is my page, updated it relatively recently: www.manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/em... I will be open to queries again on the 3rd of March. I'd love some voicey YA, particularly with romance, picture books on topics not usually addressed in pbs & fantasy that sweeps me away.

Just a reminder, while I am open to all speculative fiction, I'm really looking to fill some *specific* areas:
High heat romantasy
Non-western fantasy
YA + MG horror/horror romance
YA + MG mystery/thriller
(Here are some past visual #MSWL )
*note, I do not represent these books*

This year, I would especially love to find a grounded fantasy that comps to EMILY WILDE'S ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF FAERIES, which has been my favorite series of the past couple years.
Hooky grounded magic, delectable characters and a romance to die for, cozy vibes that escalate into high stakes! #MSWL

Some kind of romantasy or fantasy romance in YA. Standalone preferred but series potential is okay. Would love something without “I must save the world” type stakes but there’s still a solid plot and conflict #mswl

I’m a sucker for royalty stories—secret, just discovered, in hiding, etc. I love contemporary—though fantasy and historical are also cool—in YA or MG. An MG childhood favorite is “The Princess Plot,” and a recent one is “Red, White & Royal Blue” but for YA. Romance or crushes are encouraged #mswl

Happy #MSWL day! One thing I'd love to see in my query box is a cohesive fantasy or urban fantasy heist novel with paranormal elements, an immersive world, and all the feels. YA/NA/Adult
The rest of my wishlist can be seen at my pinned post, along with my query link. Please don't pitch in replies!

Fantasy/Speculative: I'm looking for magic & magical beings alongside mortals in charming places or unforgettable time periods, like Katherine Arden’s The Winter of the Witch, or VE Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (doesn't have to be witches—fae, djinn, gods are all good options) #MSWL
