Happy Thursday! Here's your BookEnds #MSWL for today: "In adult mystery, suspense, and crime, Jamesโ tastes tend to be dark. He enjoys anything with a murder or missing person at the center."

New #mswl: mysteries a lรก #ONLYMUDERSINTHEBUILDING. I spent the weekend binging it and am obsessed. I love mismatched strangers coming together to solve a crime, the limited setting of the apartment building, the secretssss, & the comedic approach to crime fiction. GIMMEE MOREE

#MSWL My narrative non-fiction taste is like obscenity: I know it when I see it. Always have an eye out for pop culture, wilderness and adventure stories, pop psychology, investigative crime nonfiction. If you have the next WE KEEP THE DEAD CLOSE, I want it and I need it.

In non-fiction, Iโm looking for big ideas, smart thinking, anything which interrogates a particular subject or idea with a fresh perspective. And always on the lookout for gripping and authentic true crime #mswl
Literary Agency
Iโm fascinated with folklore, fables, fairy-tales, mythology โ anything which works these elements into its narrative will definitely grab my attention, whether thatโs in the crime/thriller, historical or literary space #mswl

Iโm not so good with cosy crime โ I definitely react more strongly to crime/thrillers with a darker edge #mswl

Iโm keen for all kinds of crime and thrillers, from police procedurals to psychological thrillers to anything high-concept with a big hook. I read very widely in this area so open to almost anything, whether commercial or more literary #mswl

Specifically, I'd love some regional crime or some small-town mysteries. I'd also love to see some diversity in my detectives (and as much as I love police procedural, I'd also be keen to read some non-police detective characters!) #mswl

I would really like to sign some more crime authors! If you are writing classic detective fiction, police procedurals or literary mysteries, please send it my way. #mswl

I'd like to see historical mysteries/crime novels, and historical romances. I'm always keen on the gothic and the hidden corners of history. #mswl

1/ Pals, I was raised on late 90's/early 00's crime dramas. So many of these stories are how-the-mighty-fall type stories... marginalized victims getting justice or vengeance while privileged oppressive folks get their come uppance. BUT2/...they are also big time copaganda. If you are writing crime stories that will appeal to my sense of nostalgia AND have progressive politics, I want to see them Very Much! #MSWL
