Sabrina Vourvoulias @followtheledeThere are all kinds of Latinos in the real world, and there should be kinds of Latinos in sf. All of us should be represented, and faithfully so. — Isabel Schechter #FantasticLatinas #NeverthelessShePersisted #WomensHistoryMonth
#MSWL: MG SFF, contemporary realism, and historical fiction featuring Latinx kids from Central and South America and/or American kids whose heritage is from those areas. It's a big gap in children's lit and my list specifically.
#MSWL children's chapter books ages 7-9 (with a series in mind), very boy- or girl-centric. For Boys: Maybe something about a boy who considers himself a "Bugologist" & shrinks down to bug size to go on adventures. For girls: A story about a magical doll house that comes to life?
#MSWL I am activley looking for Creative Non-Fiction Picture Books. Interested in knowing exactley what that means? Take a look here: dawnpub.com/how-to-use-cre…
Creative NF Children's Books were a huge part of my Master's Thesis. I love them, and I'd especially love to rep them!
writing for young readers is incredibly hard. i can't imagine a talent more awe-inspiring than the ability to tell stories with imagination and restraint and warmth and grace to children whose lives you have the power to change forever. #mswl
