@gaileyfrey I forget where on the internet I saw this, but someone once told an anecdote about their little brother learning that baby teeth fall out and adult ones grow in and then asking, "when do your baby eyes fall out?" The thought of baby eyes has HAUNTED me ever since.Sidebar: someone write me an sf/f story where your baby eyes falling out is a rite of initiation that presages the loss of innocence and the onset of true eyes and true Sight. Happy nightmares, everyone. #MSWL

I'd love to see some #YA #Christian #Fantasy along the lines of C.S. Lewis, Donita K. Paul, and my ever adored Lloyd Alexander. Dragons welcome. Angels, demons, werewolves, vampires, and the like not so welcome. #mswl

Expanding the YA spectrum to include older main characters and college experiences can be super beneficial to readers. Not only teens read YA. Also, personal growth and education doesn't stop by merely applying for college.
This 1000%. This age is such a pivotal, complicated, transformative time and as a college reader I desperately wanted (and still want!) more books that capture that #MSWL.

A #MSWL for me and @jennybent -- a book for TWEENS (not teens) on how to process society's messaging about women & sex.

The prime minister of New Zealand announced she's pregnant, and that her partner will now be a "stay at home dad." pic.twitter.com/kVW43fNHvNOk but this little one’s life is definitely #MSWL material

All the ingredients for compelling MG or YA:1. The setup is weird yet real.
2. Characters are dealing with very specific stakes.
3. Identity-related q's for miles.
4. So much conflict potential. What happens when cute classmate asks where you live?!?!
1-4 can be applied much more broadly & that's the real #mswl takeaway here, but also please treat yourself to reading about this bizarre situation & these people who are both sympathetic and clearly papering over a whole lot of their issues.
