My top MG genres right now are contemporary, horror, historical fiction, and fantasy. Across all genres, I'm eager to see submissions by authors from underrepresented communities. #mswl

I'd love to see standalone stories that address difficult and/or weighty topics in age-appropriate, compassionate, and thoughtful ways, and that are ultimately hopeful, as well as stories that increase the diversity of experiences reflected in MG literature. #mswl

No specific #MSWL but I'd really love a story that meets all the guidelines below and is told with energy and humor.

Always voice driven, often funny, sometimes heartbreaking... Characters are key for me! I can fix a plot. 🤓 I am not great with genre fiction, though there are exceptions if the writing is irresistible to me.

I'm getting a lot of submissions in two categories lately, so maybe it's worth saying on here: I'm not looking to acquire more novels in verse at this moment, and my picture book list is quite limited. Right now, my #mswl is skewed toward mg and YA.
