I hadn't updated my actual #MSWL page since starting the new agency, but I did so today--if you're interested, you can find a more detailed discussion of what I'm looking for in submitted projects this coming year here:

I want to see more super-atmospheric haunted houses & ghosts for MG, YA, & adult.

Here's a specific list of the kind of darker lit I want to see. (I really, really love darker lit. It's my favorite.) If your MS fits this list, please query me! #MSWL #PitDark

For adult & YA, I gravitate more toward character-driven horror/fantasy/sci-fi than plot-driven. I prefer dark lit to reflect truths about humanity through relationships & setting over tangible monsters. I don't really get excited about werewolves, vampires, zombies, demons, etc.

If I missed your #PitDark pitch, paste query & 1st 5 pages in email. Adult: horror, thriller, SFF, cont. romance, & mystery. YA: thriller, SFF, horror, mystery, & cont. MG: SFF, mystery, cont., & horror. #diversity #MSWL #ownvoices querylynnette (@) theseymouragency (.) com

Mary C. Moore @Mary_C_Moore · 14 Oct 2019

Somebody please please please send me a YA or adult Gravity Falls type manuscript. #MSWL

Naomi Davis, literary agent @NaomisLitPix · 11 Oct 2019

#MSWL But I would love adult contemporary romance that challenges the reader to consider race, culture,& religion as characters navigate the relationship. If you think your book will challenge me to look critically at myself and my privileged white perspective, I want to read it.

Naomi Davis, literary agent @NaomisLitPix · 11 Oct 2019

#MSWL Looking for adult contemp romance: primarily queer or neurodiverse. I really want to focus on queer and/or autistic relationships and show the broad range of experiences that heterocis/neurotypical creators/characters have tons of page space to show already.

Naomi Davis, literary agent @NaomisLitPix · 11 Oct 2019

#MSWL Some of my favorite adult fantasy and sci fi titles:
THE TETHERED MAGE by Melissa Caruso, PLANETFALL by Emma Newman, PRIEST OF BONES by Peter McLean, THE POPPY WAR by R.F. Kuang, and STORY OF YOUR LIFE/ARRIVAL by Ted Chiang.

Amy Stapp @AmyStappNY · 10 Oct 2019

I've been seeing a lot of queries with sophisticated tinges of horror (both YA and adult) and I am Loving it right now! Especially the Gothic horror. Perfect fall reading... #MSWL

Tia Rose Mele @TiatheTiger · 1 Oct 2019

I’m dying to add some adult romance to my list! I’m open to pretty much anything in this vein, but I’m not a big fan of historicals. #mswl

Sarah E. Younger @seyitsme · 29 Sep 2019

Guess I should tag this thread w/ #MSWL & #PNR & #F & #Vampires #Adult #A (no YA or MG, not my rep'ing jam. Props to my fellow agents who rep those age ranges, but not my expertise.) Also if you sub me w/a project like this feel free to reply to this thread to give me a heads-up.

Weronika Janczuk @WeronikaJanczuk · 28 Sep 2019

I'm reading emails, queries, and tweets in the midst of a Saturday spent judging varsity debate rounds. Oh, would I love a debate novel (#MSWL), YA or adult either. The varsity resolution debates the degree to which standardized tests ought to be used during college admissions.

And another #mswl in the thriller space: I am horribly obsessed with true crime about cults, and family secrets that lead to deadly outcomes, and wild stuff like this. In Adult, especially, and in YA!

Adding to the #mswl because I think I botched a previous ask in this thread! I LOVE small town stories, (ESPECIALLY Adult romance!!) I just want them diverse and from a different voice! I also think of suburbs and small towns as completely different settings, sorry for confusion!

Replying to @SoCalledYALife

I think a book that also talks about tough subjects would be cool. Like racial issues, a death manual (as in like how to talk about it, etc), financial planning. And why it is important TO talk about these things. There is so much that isn't talk about until BOOM! adult. #MSWL

Carlisle Webber @carliebeth · 24 Sep 2019

For #MSWL day, here's my current list: I am always looking for high-concept commercial fiction for MG, YA, adult. Favorite genres are horror, mystery, suspense, thriller, and contemporary.
