Finally saw Midsommar last weekend. Still thinking about this scene.

What I loved about it is that the horror is always out in the open. There's no dark. You can't turn away. And what's scariest sometimes is what you can see and not ignore.

My SFF feelings apply to YA, too -- although in YA I am more open to Contemporary Fantasy/Paranormal than I am in Adult.

In YA and MG, I'm really looking for everything and anything, but lately my tastes have skewed more Contemporary. #MSWL

Today’s work from home movies: When Harry Met Sally, What Women Want, Wet Hot American Summer, The Wedding Date

To relate it to my #MSWL, I don’t care what men want, but I do care about summer camp (counselors & their shenanigans-Upper YA/Adult) & rom-coms like TWD and WHMS (A)

There are other great examples but I'll leave it at that for now; you get the idea. I'd love to see any mashups like these, where you could almost fit it into a variety of genres. This goes for YA & adult, btw.

Some random/ very specific things:

1. A cheerleading book (Gay BRING IT ON)!
2. Gay BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM!
3. A story with a Type 1 Diabetic protagonist!
4. Stories like WEATHERING WITH YOU where climate/ weather is the antagonist!
