This is my annual statement that once again Middle Tennessee has been invaded by hordes of music fans and I will not go downtown or anywhere south of Murfreesboro. Carry On.On that note, if you have a YA meet-cute centered around a music festival, I need that. Or a light, fun WF with women in the music biz behind the scenes - ie producers, engineers, songwriters, label execs, I wanna see it. #MSWL

I dug through hundreds of obituaries & spoke to gay ballplayers from the 1940s up through the 1990s to find the queer history of women in baseball that we stand to lose if it isn't documented. narrative.ly/the-hidden-que…Editor

It seems like a good time to remind authors of my #MSWL. That way when I come back Tuesday I'll have plenty waiting for me.I would love to find a good beachy, women's fiction read. Something about friends, beaches, small towns, that sort of thing #MSWL

Let’s also have more protagonist moms whose power doesn’t come from a system of patriarchal monarchy, who come to prominence not for whom they married or birthed, but for their independent accomplishments.Let’s see more heroines whose power isn’t derived from proximity to men.
YES SARAH!!! Life for women and women characters does not start and end with marriage/motherhood. We are women before and after marriage and motherhood, with stories to tell there too. #MSWL esp in SFF.

A partial list of some of the coolest moms of science fiction and fantasy:- Molly Weasley (Harry Potter)
- Catelyn Stark (Song of Ice and Fire)
- Mrs. Murry (A Wrinkle in Time)
- Queen Ramonda (Black Panther)
- Tenar (Earthsea)
- Alana (Saga)
- Essun (The Broken Earth)
Consider this whole thread a #MSWL
I want stories about good moms and bad moms, dedicated moms and indifferent moms, moms who move mountains for their kids and moms who do amazing things in spite of having kids.
All these women existed—and continue to exist.
Happy #MothersDay.

Honestly I want more political fantasy about mothers as heroes orchestrating the rise of their children to power. It happens in history all the time. These women’s stories deserve to be told with magic and hecking dragons.Ooo this. I want this. #mswl
