In historical fiction, I’m especially looking for stories based around WWII, the Cold War, and the 1920s

Historical: Either 70s/Vietnam War/ACROSS THE UNIVERSE vibes, WW1 and 2, even though it's a tough market, and old Historical, like empires,

I've updated my agent #mswl and added a few more categories! Specifically, I'd love to see some:
-commercial fiction set during the Second World War, like The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah or The Midwife of Auschwitz
-I recently loved The Last List of Mabel Beaumont

#amwriting & #amquerying writers, I'm looking for contemporary cosy crime in an unconventional setting, a character-driven WW2 story with female espionage (think Heather Morris), and a Lucy Foley-esque locked room psychological thriller that revolves around toxic friendship #mswl

For whatever reason, I’m really craving some historical MG, YA, and Adult right now. Scotland history and mythology in the Jacobites time, Louis the XIV court intrigue, French Revolution YA, Spanish Civil War, House of Savoy unification of Italy, Russian Revolution, etc.. #MSWL

3.WW1 or WW2 stories that aren’t acts of derring-do. What about the people left behind, or those in the factories?

BUT, my #amquerying friends, you must show me a perspective on the War that's fresh and new and like nothing I've seen before to get me interested. If I feel like I can go to my local bookstore and easily pick up 10 books with a premise similar to yours, I'm going to pass. #mswl

So, let's talk about books set during WWII. Are there still a ton of them hitting the bookshelves every month? Yes. Am I a bit burned out on them? Also, yes. Am I completely closed to WWII queries? Of course not! #mswl

I have a #MSWL, one that I've wanted for a long time. I would love, LOVE, to work with a female veteran who is writing the Great American War Novel, where women and their lives are centered instead of on the periphery. Also, if this exists, tell me so I can read it.
