Flowing into September, here's what I would LOVE to see in my inbox: HORROR!!!! It's spooky time folks, and horror is probably my favorite genre. Let's see if we can tick that genre way up, especially from POC & queer writers. Ghosts are my absolute favorite. #MSWL

My bookshelf is 50% character-driven sff/speculative/spooky, 50% realistic contemporary/historical (coming-of-age romance, mystery/thriller, action-adventure, and verse novels), mostly by BIPOC, queer, or traditionally underrepresented folks, & my taste very much reflects that.

A stellar suspense manuscript written by a POC.

The suspense shelf is full of white women, and while they are very talented, we definitely need to diversify this section of the bookstore.
