I told my dad about some of the YA projects I’m working on right now and he said, “They kinda all sound dark and sad.” Aaand he’s not wrong..? So this is a good time to remind the internet I am looking for a fun, upbeat Rom Com. Would especially love something high concept! #MSWL

Another #MSWL: Salem Witch trials but in a fantasy world.

“Paging Romance writers! I’m looking for fun, romantic romps ala CRAZY RICH ASIANS particularly LGBTQ+ romances like RED WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE.” @maureen_moretti #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

I grew up in the NJ town where suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton lived. A gorgeous house I still drive by every time I visit. I’d love to rep a story involving her—a fresh, angle since she’s been covered before in kid lit. But would be a lovely way to honor my hometown! #mswl

I just saw the Downton Abbey movie trailer and I'm super excited!

I'd love to see in my inbox a #YA Downton Abbey-esque MS with contemporary themes! Please!

#MSWL: I'd love a YA in the vein of #SeeYouYesterday. Set in the hot center of a contemporary American city. Give me the sounds, sights, flavors of the place, all in the middle of the summer. Make the stakes as high as THUG. Make it shine with magic/fantasy. Blend the genres.

17. Basically if you want to listen to all the songs for yourself: open.spotify.com/user/125271563… #MSWL #AuditoryMSWL

16. Also "We Are Never Getting Back Together" and "Love You Like Love Song" are totally two songs that should be played back to back over and over for inspiration on a contemporary about a couple who just can't seem to get their timing right. #MSWL

Wait, I thought I was done, but then my #AuditoryMSWL decided to play some songs.

15. I said it once but I will say it again: TSwift's LOOK WHAT YOU MADE is COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO soooo I would love a gender bent retelling of that. #MSWL

And finally to wrap all this up, diversity is welcome in all of this. I'm looking to make cool stories with cool people. 😎 #MSWL

Because who can resist James Norton's pillowy lips when they think about slow burn romances. #MSWL

13. Magical Realism meets THE THIRTEENTH YEAR. My love of mermaids is not a well kept secret. I would love to see something that taps into it. Something that speaks to this image, and is atmospheric and romantic. #MSWL

12. Play with structure and your story telling. Some of my favorite books of late have been the ones that played with their narrative styles. Straight prose is nice, but use your literary toolbox. #MSWL

11. I love retellings. So hit me with those, but tell me the ones that are not told that often. And show me something new in your retelling. #MSWL
