So excited to be back open to queries (a little late thanks to covid). Send me your mysteries, thrillers, complex families, kids on bikes (moms/older friends on bikes, too) and Midwest/prairie-set stories. Full #mswl @ nelsonagency.com

"Standout single-subject books tend to grab me really quickly. If you think your project is too niche, I might be right for you."

#MSWL: My adult #fiction list will be smaller but think upmarket #BookClub fiction or domestic suspense--something that will keep me up at night. Really enjoyed Angie Kim's Miracle Creek. Has to feel #contemporary, braiding together issues of social import & identity.

Literary Agent
#MSWL: #ChildrensBooks send me yr #GraphicNovel projects, from high-concept to literary, or middle grade with visual elements. Something with heart & humor. See Remy Lai's Pie in the Sky as a good comp. Also enjoyed Witches of Brooklyn & Pilau of the Woods as GN comps.

#MSWL: For #ChildrensBooks I'm only looking for Middle Grade and Young Adult right now. In the NF children's space I want STEAM-focused titles, anything whimsical and transportive, but has to be light on fantasy/ grounded fantasy (no #scifi for me).

Literary Agent
#MSWL: #Lifestyle titles (see Kate Oliver’s The Modern Caravan), humorous or visually-driven projects, (see @NatalyaLobanova's Everyone is Awful), and #business books that read like memoir (Tony Hsieh's Delivering Happiness is one of my all-time faves).

Literary Agent
#MSWL: Always on the hunt for prescriptive non-fiction with practical takeaways, #cookbooks with a unique angle or narratives centered on #culinary or #foodie life. Currently loving Mooncakes & Milk Bread by Kristina Cho. Want more southern, Asian-forward, indigenous cookbooks!

For adult #NonFiction , I want narrative or memoir (must have a platform) that sheds light on an unseen corner in society or history, esp. with a social justice bent. I want the next Braiding Sweetgrass, The New Jim Crow, Five Days at Memorial.#MSWL: Check out @stuartpalley's book Into the Inferno for a good example of what I'm looking to rep in this space. Also: medical narratives, anything shedding light on the #healthcare industry and weaving in history. Books like Heart: A History by Sandeep Jauhur, for example.

Has someone written a novelization of this yet? If not, please write it for me! #mswl washingtonpost.com/history/2019/0…Oh wow! I would read this in either fiction or narrative nonfiction. An epistolary format in fiction should be FABULOUS!!! #MSWL.
Note: I'm closed to queries, but if you have this EXACT thing, I would read it.

THE DUTCH HOUSE is one of those books that stayed with me. The decision to buy that house set in motion the entire story. The specific (and wildly different) significance the house has for each character informed the cast's behavior, personalities, interactions, etc. #MSWL
