YA! I'm focusing in on upper YA this year that appeals to the crossover/new adult space. I am looking for YA mysteries/thrillers; graphic novels; fantasies (see above); historical; and contemporary! Anything above I'd love to see in an YA-appropriate setting!

Contemporary! Any fiction that features a queer/BIPOC character finding their way in life, especially in that new adult space, is for me! Think "Luster", "Such a Fun Age", or "It's Been A Pleasure, Noni Blake"

Mysteries! I adore mysteries that rework classics like "The Wife Upstairs" or "One by One". Give me all your queer/BIPOC historical mysteries such as "Dead Dead Girls". I want queer/BIPOC Agatha Christie, friends!

Nonfiction! Anything with a queer or feminist bent is right up my alley. Think "We Keep the Dead Close"; "In the Dream House"; "Eloquent Rage"; "Know My Name"; and "Romantic Outlaws"

Romance! As my genre of choice, I'm especially looking for queer baking rom-coms like Rosaline Palmer; sweet holiday romances; books that tackle relationships + mental health like "The Charm Offensive"; and historical romances like "A League of Extraordinary Women" or Kit Webb

Historical fantasy! While the cozier, the better, I'm also looking for fantasies that sit in the upper YA/new adult space that are firmly historical and grounded. Think "The Last Magician" or "These Violent Delights"

Low-key fantasy! Epic fantasies aren't for me right now, but I'm loving warm and cozy YA/new adult fantasies that don't break the mental bank. Think "The House in the Cerulean Sea" plus "The Ex Hex" - grounded, perhaps supernatural, and heavily dosed with romance!

Books about books! Why is there nothing more satisfying than reading books about authors/writers/editors/booksellers/book lovers? Bring me your queer/BIPOC "Beach Read"s and "Fangirl"s!

Warm and cozy everything! Romances! Fantasy! Historical fiction! Anything that feels like curling up in Kate Winslet's cottage from The Holiday!

Academia! Give me all of those old-book vibes. I want dark academia with historical mysteries; professor MC/love interests a la Dani Brown; the excessive mentioning of tomes like in "A Discovery of Witches"; and an abundance of libraries!
