I'd really love to laugh, like a book about a bunch of aunties the rest of the community thinks are well past their prime--and I want to see them as full, gossipy, pushy people; what do they want? (And we return to BANDIT QUEENS!)
I want a mystery that characters wish they hadn't solved. A mystery that isn't about the mystery, really, at all, but about the people--the kind of ending that feels inevitable, like putting these people in that room at once--well, nothing else could have happened.
give me Heathcliff, give me the lover that has so misunderstood what love is that they perform deeds that leave them bloody. Give me a love that has soured and make me yearn for it anyways. I want more hauntings, more ghost stories.
Give me Practical Magic, I'm begging you.
I finished THE BANDIT QUEENS by @PariniShroff recently and CANNOT stop thinking about it. The hilarity! The murders! the whip-smart writing! The women, my god, these WOMEN. plus! a really good dog! I have never wanted to be a bonobo more 💕
sofia’s booktwt ━✫ alicent hightower apologist @booksessedwhore"academic rivals to lovers" BUT THEY'RE SOLVING A MYSTERY TOGETHER & REFUSE TO CALL EACH OTHER ANYTHING OTHER THAN THEIR LAST NAMES UNTIL THEY ENDURE A DANGEROUS LIFE-THREATENING EXPERIENCE TOGETHER & CALL ONE ANOTHER BY THEIR FIRST NAMES FOR THE FIRST TIME BC OF THE ADRENALINE?!
…do I have to say it? #mswl
Nidhi Pugalia @makep1enotw4rI want a sultry romance you know not a spicy romance but like a season 2 Bridgerton all-about-the-near-touch romance BIPOC set perhaps extremely specifically in dark academia maybe the stakes are super high maybe it's P&P meets Ninth House idk I haven't thought about it that much
for my #mswl more queer narratives à la Neel Patel including characters coming out at later stages of their lives, particularly from BIPOC cultures. I think about this all the time. Every day. 1 AM on a Sunday after cheer up Charlie’s. Thank you and good night.
My #A #MSWL page is live! Agents, send me your BIPOC myth-retellings--your dark, lyrical novels that dip into fantasy--your REBECCA-esque gothic fiction--your quirky, voicey nonfic. Make me hungry, teach me something, whisk me away: bit.ly/2Udh4Is📚

I guess my #mswl is just a love story between birds and literally anything about abandoned buildings.
#promoted to Assistant Editor @VikingBooks and open to submissions—send me your lyrical novels that dip into fantasy and magical realism and myth; your haunting, REBECCA-esque sublime suspense; & any ANY memoir/narrative related to FOOD. More #mswl tk.
Eric Smith @ericsmithrocksWho are my editor and agent friends that are into food memoir?
One of my childhood friends grew up into a celebrated restauranteur and I'm beta reading her memoir and it's wildly beautiful.
It's like a Middle Eastern Blood, Bones & Butter.
