#MSWL I only represent children’s books, but I work with everything from board books through YA, both fiction and nonfiction. In board and picture books I prefer seeing submissions from author-illustrators.

While I am open to all speculative fiction, I'm really looking to add more ya & mg horror/thriller/mystery authors to the list 🕷 #MSWL

Authentic voices: especially true for MG--your MG voice should feel like it's coming from a MG kid, not an adult trying to sound like a MG kid. I don't mean adding words like, "sigma, rizz, skibbidi toilet..." If you know, you know. MG voice is the HARDEST imo to get right.

Voice/Opening pages: For MG/YA--I prefer strong voices, and authentic voices, opening pages where I feel grounded in the world quickly, and a clear sense of character and stakes. (I'll elaborate more below).

#MG : stories with a strong hook, fast-paced adventure, grounded fantasy, first crush or light romance—particularly on the hunt for stories by marginalized authors.

Please, I beg of you, once I reopen to queries in like a month, send me every children's manuscript (PB through YA) that someone told you was too strange to let out into the daylight. I must discover the next Roald Dahl or Edward Gorey. #MSWL
