I'd really love to see more middle grade, particularly ones that tackle mental health and other difficult topics.

I'm also on a big MG in verse kick, and I'd like to see that in my inbox. #MSWL

In Graphic Novels (young readers, MG, and YA), I'd love to see:
📷 STEM topics for young readers
📷 Tweens saving the world
📷 Queer teens living their best lives

In Middle Grade, I'd love to see:
⚽️Fantasy inspired by myths, folklore, or legends
⚽️Historical that centers POC stories
⚽️Contemporary with an environmental bent
⚽️Horror with ghosts, creepy crawlies, and witches
⚽️Growing up in non-traditional settings
⚽️Earth-based sci-fi

For MG in general, I don't tend to be the right person for animal protagonists, I don't typically enjoy dragon stories, and I'm not looking for European-inspired fantasy settings.

On the contemporary side, I like MG narratives that have a lot of heart and deal with meaningful topics (think FROM THE DESK OF ZOE WASHINGTON and FRONT DESK). I also love MG stories that deal with all the stomach-swooping and awkwardness of that first crush.

On the fantasy side, I still tend toward contemporary fantasy -- especially because of the potential for goofy MG shenanigans -- however I'm more open to higher fantasy in MG.

Some of my faves: AMARI AND THE NIGHT BROTHERS; GHOST SQUAD.

MG

I tend toward upper MG, and love fantasy and contemporary narratives, but voice is the most important element for me in this age category. I want funny/quirky/snarky MG voices, something really strong that hooks you in immediately.

The broadest strokes are that I'm looking for Adult romance; YA romcoms, contemporary, and the odd spec fic; and MG contemporary and fantasy. Specifics below.

All types, ages, and subgenres of horror. Looking for the whole spectrum: quiet atmospheric stories, darkly funny horror comedies, and big, over the top slashers. This is the main genre I’m looking for in MG!

For the basics, I represent: MG horror, mysteries, & thrillers; YA SFF, horror, mysteries, & thrillers; adult SFF, horror, mysteries, & thrillers; select YA/adult GN; and select adult NF. More niche wants below ⬇️

A MG adventure filled story about misfit kids with a super high stakes plot. I want peril, I want friendship, I want humour - like a group of friends that find an old map and have to race some dastardly criminals to find the treasure and save their family home...
