#mswl I am especially on the hunt for adult literary horror, with lots of psychological twisty-ness.

A few specific #mswl bits I'm on the hunt for at the moment: character-driven sci-fi (THE LAST WATCH), gothic horror (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE), immersive mystery (Attica Locke's Highway 59 series), and journalistic nonfiction (Patrick Radden Keefe is a favorite).

Horror / Speculative:
Grounded horror or speculative fiction that is creepy and unsettling, but rooted in the real world.
Think LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND, and THE CABIN AT THE END OF THE WORLD.
Other Favorites: Jennifer McMahon, Simone St. James and Alex North.

I would love some brilliant, atmospheric YA horror that is reminiscent of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE or a slasher like SCREAM.

I've also become a fan of novels-in-verse across middle grade and YA.

This is a hyper-specific Horror ask but I would die (and be reborn as a ghost) for an Adult or YA novel that takes inspiration from "The Green Ribbon." #mswl

I generally prefer my horror to be set in our world or something that resembles it, either past or present (think AHS: Murder House). Haunted places are a go as long as the world around them is real. But… #MSWL
