Updated job title, updated agent page...✍️
I'm on the hunt for some BRILLIANT new novels, so #amquerying authors have a look at the #MSWL on my page and please do submit if you have something that might fit the bill!📚
2. Fantasy involving ghosts, witches, etc. Vampires are ok but they need to be human-friendly like ADOW. (I *adore* ADOW!). Historical fantasy like ADDIE LARUE. With historical fiction, I prefer pre-20th century.
Dystopian • overreacting govts, secret societies, collapse, revolution, apocalyptic (esp w/ religious themes)
Romance • any of the above, historical, contemporary, enemies to lovers, childhood sweethearts, love triangles, no explicit content, would love halal
I'd also love to see #ownvoices Latin-America-inspired mythological fantasy. It could be contemporary, historical, or a fresh retelling.
Anything featuring my favourite animal gets bonus attention.
Hello authors & artists~I'm fortunate to work with some very talented individuals. They've made my life better through their stories & art. I love #kidlit & so, for several days this month, I'm opening to queries @StormLiterary Read details & #MSWL here:
My bookshelf is 50% character-driven sff/speculative/spooky, 50% realistic contemporary/historical (coming-of-age romance, mystery/thriller, action-adventure, and verse novels), mostly by BIPOC, queer, or traditionally underrepresented folks, & my taste very much reflects that.
#MSWL Agents, I've been seeing some fantastic YA sff subs. I'll never say no to sff that captures my heart, but I'm also on the lookout for gorgeously written verse/prose, layered coming-of-age (historical or contemp) esp if it weaves in queer romance and/or mystery/suspense.
I have a soft spot for HISTORICAL FANTASIES, whether real or imagined & particularly if they have a healthy dose of romance in there i.e. Regency Faerie Tales. I do love learning about a new culture or period of history, so assume I am casting this net very far & wide! #mswl
YA: coming of age romance like Last Night at the Telegraph Club or Ari & Dante w/gorgeous prose; coming of gender; atmospheric gothic (like The Handmaiden); historical/nf; mystery/thrillers like Firekeeper's Daughter or Patron Saints of Nothing; character-driven speculative. 4/6
"Seeking generational stories of parenthood and family with non-binary and/or trans characters in the commercial or historical adult fiction genre (ie. heavy with plot!)"
Villains being truly and genuinely villainous, romance at the forefront but politics at the core, family dynasties, high stakes adventure, historical dramas, highly aesthetic spaces, thoughtfully done ensemble casts with series potential. Give me more Fourth Wing
I'm still hungry for historical! On that front: I can't stop thinking about GREAT CIRCLE, which I waited a criminally long time to read. I'm desperate for an epic family novel told across timelines and generations.
