A meeting today made me think: I’d LOVE to see a huge, sweeping pre-Columbian epic fantasy novel in my inbox. Before the Europeans landed and ruined everything, there were vibrant, sophisticated, and competitive empires in the Americas. That’s as epic fantasy as anything. #MSWL

Ariana Grande still has a hold on my soul.
Here's a #ThursdayAesthetic for something I will *never* write but is now on my #MSWL: a #YA fantasy about a black messiah and her kickass disciples feeding the hungry, killing kings, and convincing the kingdom that God is a woman

But when agent screws up, authors sometimes have trust issues.I get it, totally. Please don't hesitate to query me & talk opwnly if you were recently impacted by 1 of these events where an agent didn't do their job according to industry standards.I would love to see your work. 2/#MSWL Adult and YA fantasy, sci fi, romance. Picture books featuring diversity, food, or fun word play. I love:• fantasy that sweeps me so deep into another world I forget who I really am
• sci fi that makes me question my entire reality
• the above, in such an explosive/expansive way transitioning back to real life feels impossible
• characters who linger beside me for weeks

#MSWL I would love a political fantasy or SF novel that pays as much attention to the symbolic meaning of clothing, gestures, and etiquette as the Queen of England does her brooches, and the plot hinges on this. The Goblin Emperor meets Ancillary Sword, I suppose? twitter.com/SamuraiKnitter…This is also one thing I *LOVE* about CJ Cherryh's Foreigner series. #MSWL

Bitch. STILL my superhero name. @SamuraiKnitter
#BroochDecoderRingThe following data relies heavily on the work of the blogger at "Her Majesty's Jewel Box". If you swing by there (I will be linking), BE ADVISED THE BLOGGER WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS POLITICAL STUFF THAT IS NOT WHY SHE IS THERE so take it easy.

I would love to see more Middle Grade in general, but I am particularly excited about contemporary fantasy (fantasy set in our world) and stories inspired by non-western cultures. #mswl

Ways fantasy can be dynamic without relying on Tolkien-inspired landscapes, creatures, or Chosen One tropes:- Add a second power to the world that isn't humans. Be creative with this: perhaps the king must confer with the birds or frogs before charging to war.
More about my adult fantasy #MSWL - Query me if your story fits!
