ZR/Zabé Ellor @ZREllor#MSWL I’d love to see some diverse MG in my inbox—especially fun adventure stories not rooted in pain
#MSWL I’d also love some adult science fiction where diverse voices tell a new and different story about how people relate to technology
Alyssa!!! Cole @AlyssaColeLitI hope that the biggest takeaway from yesterday in Romancelandia is that romance readers are clearly well-versed in the diversity of the Regency, are excited to see more of it, and trad pubs should be acquiring diverse historicals written by POC/marginalized authors.
YES!!! And on that thought, I definitely want to see more diverse Regency, Gregorian, and Victorian YA in my inbox. I took three different Jane Austen classes in college--I have a mighty need #mswl
Southern gothic has been claimed so much by white writers when some of my favorite southern gothic literature is by black authors so would love to see the submissions I get really reflect the diversity of the south and of vampires, haha. #mswl
“For me, literary fiction lives and dies in its characters and writing, send me your complex, diverse characters grappling with what it means to be human something in the vein of Tom Rachman’s THE IMPERFECTIONISTS.” @maureen_moretti #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/
Brit Perilli @Britny_PerilliLooking for some manga/anime to enjoy over the holiday in the vein of Ouran High School Host Club, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, or Love is Hard for Otaku!
Honestly, I'd love to see some YA that has the playfulness & emotional conflicts of these kinds of rom coms with diverse protagonists, too. #mswl
I had such an amazing time at #alaac19 and in New York! After wonderful conversations with my TBA colleagues and many editors, a few updates to my #MSWL: coming of age literary MG, young illustrated MG, and (still!) contemporary YA, especially diverse voices and/or a rom com.
This is a fun one!! Thanks @Write4Kids for the fun interview!! #bookstagram #kidsbooks #mswl #SundayMorning #SundayThoughts #kidlit #reading #AMJOY #BeKind #History #ownvoices #diversity #SundayMotivation #workhardplayhard #tbt #fun!
#MSWL Adult Rom-com’s with diverse characters (I.e. Crazy Rich Asians, Ayesha At Last, etc.). Bonus points if complete with Bridget Jones-like single and imperfect woman, epic Tinder fails, and best friends like The Bold Type. 👍🏻😉
books on negotiation, but for career negotiators, not those negotiating for a job. I'd like books on diversity like White Fragility or So You Want to Talk About Race. I want books by women for women and especially for everyone. #MSWL
