Would love more lgbtq+, family stories, stories about finding your community and supporting it

@ecniumata & I are open to queries! Particularly on the hunt for genre-blends (like hist/SFF) & sharp contemp w/ spec elements or inventive mixed-media. Anything comped to Grady Hendrix, Freya Marske, Mona Awad, Victor LaValle, T. Kingfisher, Carissa Orlando & Simone St. James

#mswl

And more niche - I'd love a cult story, a truly scary atmospheric ghost story (Think Dark Matter by Michelle Paver), The Traitors in a book, an Ace protagonist, a Yellowjackets horror and a sarky voice driven teen contemporary about Middle School and how hard it is!

Writers of Bluesky! I'm on the lookout for some fresh new voices for middle grade readers. I love contemporary realistic stories but am happy to be swept away with something with fantasy elements too. All submission details are on our website www.skylark-literary.com/submission-guidelines 📚💕#MSWL

Jess is craving contemporary historical (1960s-90s) with a voice. Think Demon Copperhead but for another era. Literary-leaning, immersive, and the kind of book people argue about. #MSWL

A peek at her #MSWL !

Next week I'll put my cute winter boots back on, but this week I want to escape. Send me your transportive thrillers, psychological spinners, speculative page turners, your totally going to get lost in this book contemporary fiction. #MSWL

We are thrilled to announce that Literary Agent Apprentice Jaclyn has officially released her MSWL!! 💚✨

What a busy busy day! I've finally had a chance to update my #MSWL on my website! Check it out: serarivers.com/mswl/ I'm so excited to be OPENING to #queries in select adult #fiction , especially subversive #horror , and #contemporary narratives that comment on social injustice.

Running late on #MSWL Day but HMU if you have smart literary spec work like HOW HIGH WE GO JN THE DARK or STATION ELEVEN with a spiritual twist: whp.submittable.com

Another big #MSWL would be a fresh, twisty, tightly paced psychological suspense with smart, strong female characters - I'm open to contemporary or light speculative in this genre.

I'd love to find more layered, contemporary middle grade projects--especially stories that highlight an experience we don't often see on the page, and that have a unique story hook. #MSWL

Clocking in for #MSWL Day duty 🫡

I’ve updated my profile on the website (will be linking below) but the tldr of it is that I’m looking for #horror #speculative #contemporary #upmarket and #literary #fiction for #adult and #ya . For #nonfiction I want to see #jounrnalism and #culturalcriticism

- for sf & fantasy, i tend to lean more contemporary or literary-leaning than i do with commercial / traditional, but that doesn't mean i can't be surprised!
- my mswl has a lot of media & ~vibes~ that i'm drawn to, but i'd rather see an accurate comp than one that tries to match my exact examples

Queer and/or BIPOC fantasy (contemporary, urban, second world, etc.) with lush settings and intriguing magical systems (+YA)
o A MAGIC STEEPED IN POISON
o CEMETARY BOYS
o MIDNIGHT GIRLS
o DRAGONFRUIT
o A MARVELLOUS LIGHT

#MSWL

In graphic novels, I'd love to see the next contemporary swoony YA or adult romance/romcom, as well as stories set in the workplace or internships. On the NF side, I'd love to see more illustrated how-to books for kids in my inbox. #MSWL
