Agents! I would love to see more literary YA in my inbox. Please keep the picture books coming, but I need some novels in my life right now as well. Obviously, I have the extra reading time! #mswl

In this weird and heavy and complicated time, Soho is on a temporary acquisitions pause.BUT, agents—call! Write! Text! DM me! I will be doing the same. I want to make connections, friends, and look to the future with everyone.
I'm working on posting my #MSWL, but for now: I'm interested in books that embrace ST's mission—bold voices, diverse voices, daring stories of self-discovery—and also intimate voices, books & characters that exist in in-between spaces, marginalized or silenced perspectives.

Another one of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers. I'd love to acquire a romcom series with the feel of the London Celebrities books by @_LucyParker #MSWL

#MSWL For Carina Adores, I'd love to acquire a queer marriage of convenience contemporary.Or a queer take on any of my fave tropes...
#Carinapitch
#MSWL Some of my favorite tropes include secret agenda, secret identity...secrets in general. Fake dating, arranged marriages, second chance, forbidden love, and forced proximity. I enjoy stories with strong family elements, and characters that are quirky and smart.

Possibly a weird #mswl request, but I've been thinking about it today:
I'd love to add a book to my list with the same unnerving, pervasive, looming dread that Majora's Mask gave me. A secondary-world or portal fantasy where the atmosphere is just slightly off-kilter

I used to read CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM out loud with my younger siblings and it used to keep us laughing and so entertained. Picture books that elicit that kind of read-aloud fun are always on my #MSWL

Upper MG in the vein of THE SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS. To this day, I will put my hair up Violet Baudelaire style when I need to concentrate. I love the strong sibling bonds, the overarching mystery element, and kids fighting against the corruption of adults. #MSWL

While I do love Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, my favorite Austen novel is Persuasion. I’d love to see a YA reimagining of this novel about second chances. #MSWL

So scary movies absolutely terrify me, but my love of spooky MG stems from R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. I couldn’t get enough of it as a kid and MG that keeps me turning the pages and the nightlight on is always on my #MSWL.

MG or YA in the vein of Madeline L’Engel’s A RING OF ENDLESS LIGHT. This book tackles some big, tough questions about death and love in such an eloquent, lyrical way and it will always hold a special place in my heart. #MSWL

A few Monday #MSWL items, inspired by some of my all-time favorite childhood reads.MG or YA that comps to Tamora Pierce’s Tortall Universe, especially THE SONG OF THE LIONESS and IMMORTALS series. Intrigue! Adventure! Mythical creatures! Characters who kick butt! Expansive world building! It’s an eternal #MSWL for me.

Never Have I Ever truly destroyed me--I haven't cried this hard over a show in a while. But can I just say, seeing a girl of color being able to make a wide array of mistakes and still get a happy-ish ending really does something for me--more stories like this please #mswl
