#mswl MG I’d love to see a manuscript about the drama, the friendships, etc., that happen in an after-school aftercare program that’s part of a middle school but not really. A Breakfast-Club-esque kind of group.

I am hungry to buy something that sweeps me off my feet - YA, rooted in contemporary, with a great hook, strong voice, complex characters. Come at me, people! #MSWL

Thinking about some childhood favorites and how they didn't "break" any fairy-tale tropes, but instead smartly used them to challenge readers in this fantastically fun, wry way. Agents, I would love to see projects in this vein! #mswl

In addition to historical (see my pinned tweet) I’m looking for fresh, high-concept contemporary romcoms for my list. Digital and/or mass market opportunities, depending on author track, writing schedule, and word count. Query + full to my attn via entangledpublishing.submittable.com/submit/ #MSWL

Random #MSWL: I'd love a MG that deals explicitly with periods: the pain, the missing school, gym class, worrying about your pants/your chair, all that. I got mine between 5th and 6th grade at Disney World -- DISNEY WORLD -- and it was a game. changer.

FaceApp, 23andMe, etc. stealing your identity and somehow forever altering society is the next YA novel I'd love aka be terrified to read. #mswl

I just learned about the power of #mswl hashtag for acquisitions work, and now I mean to use it for our regional trade imprint, Three Hills bit.ly/2JMZNNu #amediting HT @savranly

Agents! I am caught up on subs through 6/19 and am hungry for more. A few things on my #MSWL today: a twisty YA thriller I can read at the beach, an #ownvoices MG novel with queer representation, a picture book in the vein of ESCARGOT with a protagonist that should be a plushie.

A huge #MSWL for me is a classic romcom but mtf4ftm

Finally saw ABOUT TIME this weekend and so loved it. Agents, just a reminder that lightly speculative projects grounded in our world are EXTREMELY my jam. #MSWL

#MSWL (agented only): college set YA / college set/post college adult fiction

Vicki Lame @thedaysbetween · Jul 12

#MSWL (agented only): I will always be a sucker for a good prep school novel (YA or adult).

I want a book that truly messes with your perception of reality. Not just a psychological thriller, but a truly, mind-bending, House of Leaves-type book that blasts away all previous notions of what a book can be #MSWL
