"Send me YA nonfiction: memoir, essay collections, you name it. QUEER, THERE, AND EVERYWHERE is probably my favorite YA nonfiction title in recent memory, and a great example of what I'd like to see."

Weaponizing nature sounds like a top notch idea. It definitely doesn’t have a grudge or anything. twitter.com/canneo2103145/…#MSWL Nature fighting back. Especially if it's in an extreme environment and you add in very angry animals/ insects.

Also, 18/34 romance books I’ve read this year have been self-published. So if you’re an indie or self-pubbed author looking to break into traditional publishing with a new project, I’d love to hear from you!

I’m really interested in book series that are interconnected standalones based on a same friend group, college, team, or industry

Songs I wish I could just bottle up their essence in romance scenes:
“Shivers” Ed Sheeran
“You Broke Me First” Tate McRae
“Still Falling For You” Ellie Golding
“Forever” Mumford and Sons
“Until I Found You” Stephen Sanchez
“Take Me to Church” Milck

Movies I’d love to capture the vibe of (and yes i know CRA is a book):

I would love to see diverse rep and marginalized authors play with their comfort tropes. Small towns, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, sports rivals, marriage of convenience. I don’t think tropes are ever overplayed, they just need a great hook and a great sense of craft

I love books that hurt. That are so beautiful but maybe tragic too. Stories with big emotions and deep sense of community. I love stories that give us a ~thing~ our characters hold onto.

Couldn’t have been better timing, exactly what I’m figuring out for my own #WIP“There’s a particular subgenre of speculative fiction that scratches an itch for me like no other. It’s where you find yourself in a world very much like our own, except one thing is slightly… off.”
Ohhh this unsettling vibe is 100% #MSWL for me!

Hi🧍🏽♀️I’m opening to queries soon!I took a break to dive deep into projects on my list & also read/watch new media I fell for.
I have an updated #mswl for querying authors to look at on my website, but I also wanted a 🧵thread below for anyone thinking we might make a rad team!
This old #mswl still applies as well and it has a brilliant ✨vibe✨

Young heists, mysteries, detectives, assassins. Middle grade or YA necromancers, supernatural hunters, and kids who get revenge

Romantic, steamy adult fantasy romances. Deals of convenience, betrayal, political intrigue, dueling families, rivals to lovers to enemies, immortals w/longstanding wars and deep histories. Ballroom dances that end with a dagger to the throat. Rich world building & magic systems

I’d also love some darker speculative work. Murder, magic, gothic, dark academia, occult conspiracies, races against the clock and morally grey heroes. Across all ages I want the dark and twisted

For the first time, I’m opening up to romance in the adult space, particularly contemporary stories that have a lot of layers, have a great backdrop, and an ensemble cast. I’ll be pretty picky here, but here are a few of my faves from the last year 🤍
