Mornings with a slight breeze always instantly take me back to early summer mornings on the marching field with the band. I’m still desperate for a marching band YA. This Texas band geek and former drum major misses the field. #MSWL

I've tumbled into a research hole about the Jewish-American Mafia, and...folks, this is so specific...but if anybody's sitting on an ownvoices YA set during the turn-of-the-20th-century and following a teen swept up by the Purple Gang, I'm your girl #MSWL

I'd love to see more contemporary YA focused around friendship struggles rather than romance. Romance is great, but I'd rather have it sidelined in favor of friends. As always, stories by and about the lives of underrepresented voices are best! #mswl

I love MG. I want stories that cover important topics like being first gen, and poverty, and homelessness, as well as our classics. But voice is key. Some of my favorite authors are J. Anderson Coats, Melanie Crowder, Lauren Wolk, Kelly Yang. #MSWL #MG

I love a good quirky, fun, voicey MG. I talk about FOVEA MUNSON all the time, but that book really is peak Nat some days. #MSWL #MG

I love historical fiction, but I am picky. Because I want to see a historical voice. I love Ruta Sepetys for this reason. Give me histories I have never seen, give me view points never known. Immerse me in the setting, and culture. #MSWL #YA #MG

What I am looking for here is fantasy that is high concept, but beautifully written. All these authors I read in 1 sitting, ignoring everything. I want a fantasy where I ignore the world. Make it stand out and feel like I have never seen these elements before. #MSWL #YA #MG

Speaking of Sabaa, I want cinematic fantasy. What do I mean by that? High concept, sweeping, almost grand like a movie in your head. Sabaa does this wonderfully, but so does Marie Rutkoski, Sarah J. Maas, Tahereh Mafi, Laini Taylor. #MSWL #YA #MG

I also want a beautifully written, yet character driven friendship book. I'm fascinated by the dynamics of friendships. Great examples of the writing I want here are Kit Frick, Courtney Summers, Sabaa Tahir. These authors swept me away. #MSWL #YA

You can do any of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, old people matchmakers, Instant Love with Hurdles. JUST GIVE ME FLUFFY FEELS. and make me kiddy for their romance. #MSWL

So I mentioned wanting a fluffly YA rom-com. It is like the #1 thing I want right now. I am craving it like I crave pickles or guac. Think HOT DOG GIRL, or THE PRINCESS DIAIRIES, or ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS. Just fun, squee emotions, and escapism. #MSWL
