And on the other end of the spectrum I'm looking for page-turners, (not near-future) dystopias, locked room thrillers, dark academia, high stakes, rule driven stories that make you FURIOUS if someone interrupts you. (Queer preferred) romance is a nice to have not necessary.

Tuesday and I'm thinking a bit about my #mswl

I'm feeling *cosy* at the moment. I want stories that are all vibes and textures. Driftwood, oak floors, cobbled streets. Everything from PBs to NA give me your stories that are curl up in the corner, low stakes, hot coffee.

This is a niche want but I want to see more embarrassing parents (Dads in socks and sandals, moms wearing fanny packs) in kidlit. I want the parents to be loving and ride or die for their kids, but I want the embarrassing loving parent. Dad jokes a plus. #MSWL

I'd be interested in working with self-published authors who are doing well and looking to break into new markets (translation, audio, etc.) and/or go hybrid with traditional publishing #mswl

I have started calling picture books that are fun and entertaining and a bit commercial with a subtle message or theme as "pickles". They're not really vegetables, but they are made out of cucumbers. Kids don't think of them as vegetables (but again, cucumbers). That's the PB I want #MSWL
