In terms of more specific #mswl asks, I am obsessed with vicious, evil, terrifying mermaids and sea creatures. None of that Ariel crap. I want my mermaids with blubber and claws pls.

Right now I would absolutely love to see more Latine/Latinx, Caribbean, first gen, and acespec voices in my queries as those are my lived experiences but am excited to see works from all walks of life!

I’ve been pretty into what I call “ancestral revenge” books lately: Mexican Gothic, Hide, The Only Good Indians, Nothing But Blackened Teeth, etc.

I am most interested in books that explore and grapple with inheritance, with the world left behind for us, and how characters react and deal with the consequences of their predecessors’ actions.

Mystery/thrillers! I'm especially looking for YA mysteries that comp to Holly Jackson, Courtney Summers, and Tiffany D. Jackson! For Adult, I'd love to see historical mysteries like DEAD DEAD GIRLS, academic mysteries like THE IT GIRL, and fun thrillers a la Stacey Willingham!

Upper-YA & Adult Fantasy! Think historical reads like THE LAST MAGICIAN, A MARVELLOUS LIGHT, and BABEL and/or fun queer/BIPOC contemporaries like CARRY ON or LEGENDBORN. I'm not looking for epic/high fantasies, but send your grounded fantasies my way!

Historical romances! Anything that comps to Evie Dunmore, Cat Sebastian, or Mimi Matthews with a queer, feminist, and/or BIPOC focus is for me! Also send holiday historicals like A HOLIDAY BY GASLIGHT my way!
