I desperately want more queer disabled rep in books. Give me gay wheelchair users in space. Give me an asexual autistic queen in high fantasy who is a badass and takes no shit. Give me a deaf non binary space commander who’s team has adjusted so wonderfully that they can (1/2)this is the stuff of #MSWL for sure

Kelly RELENTLESS is OUT NOW! @LitAgentKelly
In addition, you know what I honestly have grown to strongly dislike? Cli-fi or any sort of climate fueled fiction that has a the entire story based around preventing some sort of natural disaster or scientific natural disaster due to climate. I can learn to love fantasy… #mswlWith natural disaster or elemental elements that could be based off the climate crisis, but if you’re calling your book Cli-Fi or that it’s based around a deteriorating climate…I will unfortunately, probably, reject it. Even then, I’ll only be open for YA Sci-Fi at that. #mswl

As some have noticed, Sci Fi isn’t on my list at the moment. I’ll still accept it on the off chance I might love it, but I haven’t read a SF manuscript that I’ve fallen in love with yet. However, Sci-Fi/Fantasy is still game if it’s more fantasy than sci fi. #mswl

- speculative fiction
(I prefer grounded, literary sci-fi + fantasy. no secondary worlds, but rather our world steeped in liminal magic and/or technology. anything creepy, toothy, gritty, strange, something that sends a shiver down your spine.)

We are also keen to see MG sci-fi and fantasy, and are particularly looking for UK middle grade by creators from historically excluded backgrounds.
Looking forward to reading! #mswl
I love freaky technology-related sci-fi elements (Severance is my favorite show I've watched in recent years), though I like my fiction grounded.
Make it just real enough to seem possible, and you've got me on the hook.

✨#MSWL for trans voices in that comp @ryka_aoki's The Light from Uncommon Stars. I'm blown away not just by the voice, but by the originality of the story, the heart, the narrative scope. It's breathtaking. We need more trans joy in SFF. Send them my way.
