I’m looking for historical romance that is warm and tropey, high concept and engaging. I also like high concept historical romance that goes dark and explores characters a la Kerrigan Byrne. Where are the diverse and #ownvoices historicals? #MSWL

One of my favorite romance tropes is when you start with “oh man these people are diametrically opposed and should never be in the same room” and then you immediately smush them together for some dastardly reason. #MSWL

2019 #MSWL: a fantasy or sf romance with the depth of plot, character & worldbuilding of Nalini Singh's fab books. Nonfiction like THE BUTCHERING ART. Smart, fun not-guilty-pleasure reading like CRAZY RICH ASIANS. Great YA epic fantasy (and contemporary).

YA: Much the same as MG--humor, realistic teen stories, #ownvoices, adventure, sci-fi. Also, love a good teen romance, horror, mystery, but not super-dark.
Children's NF at all levels: curriculum tie-ins, PB bios, multicultural history, science, sports, pop culture.
