What am I looking for in submissions?

Something smack in the middle of the market with a totally unique voice. I try to be more specific when talking #MSWL but that's the truth.

Hello Tuesday, and hello writers. I am hungry for more young adult and super hungry for middle grade submissions, too! If you're querying either, please consider sending your work way. Thank you! #mswl

Hello, I would love a picture book about Boaty McBoatface and its contributions to climate change research! #MSWL telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/06/1…

Noticed I've been receiving more subs about the circus and let me tell you I AM HERE FOR IT.

Fun fact: I am a rope aerialist. I perform in circus shows often. After reading, circus is my 2nd way of escapism.

Keep them coming! I'm loving all these different takes. Forever #mswl

So, yes!, I'm still open to WWII stories. But I really want to see a fresh perspective, so go out there and find the story that hasn't been told yet. #mswl

Or Sandra Bolzenius's GLORY IN THEIR SPIRIT, which tells the stories of four African American women who fought against the Army's segregation policies. #MSWL

And I'm open to nonfiction about WWII as well, especially books about the now forgotten women who played such a huge part in the War. #mswl

I think there are still a ton of stories we can tell with regard to the War's Pacific front. Sara Ackerman's books set in Hawaii during the War are great examples. #mswl

So, what do I mean by a fresh perspective? Here are some examples. #mswl

BUT, my #amquerying friends, you must show me a perspective on the War that's fresh and new and like nothing I've seen before to get me interested. If I feel like I can go to my local bookstore and easily pick up 10 books with a premise similar to yours, I'm going to pass. #mswl

Amanda Jain @wensday95 · Jun 18

So, let's talk about books set during WWII. Are there still a ton of them hitting the bookshelves every month? Yes. Am I a bit burned out on them? Also, yes. Am I completely closed to WWII queries? Of course not! #mswl

To watch Gauri Malar and Roshan Jayathilake playing with their 11-month-old daughter, you'd never guess that just 10 years ago they were mortal enemies. #MSWL #Srilanka bbc.co.uk/news/world-asi…

Also books on alternative health like CBD oils, essential oils and others. But it all needs to be different and new and the author platform for every single one of these ideas matters. #MSWL
