You know here's another thing: I really want #YA and #MG from the pov of underprivileged kids, especially in non-coastal states. #MSWL

there's always room for more MG and picture books on my list, too. contemporary, fantasy, somewhere in between. lots of humor, lots of heart. those MG years are weird, funny, sad, hard, beautiful, and i want to feel alllll of it. take me back. (for better or for worse) #MSWL

Adult #Mystery, #Thriller, #Suspense-- I love my dark mysteries and thrillers along the lines of Tana French. I will never do a #MSWL without Tana French's name. Ever. I've read a ton of Ruth Ware this year, and loved it all.

i'm also here for smart rom coms and women's fiction, bright and joyful and swoony and fresh. unexpected love that comes in all shapes and sizes. real people, real dilemmas, real dreams. i just devoured RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE and oh my god, yes, everything about that book. #MSWL

Literary MG, whether that's contemporary (a la Corey Ann Haydu) or an animal POV (PAX), I want the books that are going to pull at my heartstrings but leave me uplifted. I'd also love to see something girly (UNICORN QUEST) or with complex puzzles (BENEDICT SOCIETY). #MSWL

PLOT!! This is a general wish. Send me your beautifully written stories with complex characters. But for goodness sake, let there be plot! I want characters to not only have interior obstacles but exterior ones as well, and to have changed in some way by the last page. #MSWL

An #ownvoices thriller, filled with twists and turns and an ending that gives me whiplash. I think we've seen enough unreliable narrators. I want a narrator who knows what's up but is in great jeopardy. #MSWL
