One of my agent bucket list items is to represent picture books + middle grade with Jewish characters, themes, situations--fiction + nonf. Help me make my mother-in-law proud! Especially interested in Own Voices author-illustrators of PBs and funny contemporary mg here! #mswl
The BIGGEST take away here should be to send me gooey love stories set in non-Western places, that have diverse characters, and any pairing—m/m, f/f, f/m. I just really want my heart to swoon when I read.
Please please please don’t have the romantic interest to die of cancer, or in a car crash, or commit suicide. 💔
Even if romance isn’t the main feature, if it has these characteristics I want to see it.
In MG—yes there can be romance in MG—I really want that sweet and innocent first crush, first kiss, first hand holding. I want the feels to wrap around me like a warm blanket.
Take me back to that awkward time where the love interest doesn’t know what hits them when they meet “the one”—especially if it’s enemies to lovers!

Laurel Symonds @LaurelSymondsI’m celebrating my two-year agenting anniversary this week! I’m so proud of my clients, thankful for my TBA colleagues, and excited for all the things to come. pic.twitter.com/cjj3FMeJ1t
I’m also still actively building my client list. Please see The Bent Agency’s website/MSWL for some updates on what I’m looking for. Right now I’m all about contemporary: YA, MG, and GN, especially from underrepresented communities. #MSWL
I reopen to queries on Thursday🎉 To celebrate, I will post my fresh #MSWL in the days leading up to October 1st. I am excited to see all the amazing stories you've been working on #writingcommmunity. #amagenting
