Another lovely quote, from Flannery O'Connor: "Conviction without experience makes for harshness." #MSWL I'd love to find non-fiction that struggles deeply to internalize people's experiences before it comments on it--to do deeply ethnographic work, so as to prevent judgement.
I'd love to see more nonfiction with a strong platform that is not memoir. I love quirky/hidden histories with a really compelling hook, biographies of people who haven't gotten enough attention, or even a novel take on creating a better economic system. #mswl
On to @EmF1nn, who's hunting for love stories (platonic/romantic/big messy families); gorgeous writing with page-turning plot; high concept fiction with an arresting premise and characters to do it justice; immersive, cross-genre narrative non-fiction... bit.ly/3bnKerI
“Picture Books: the Wheel of the Year, cultural traditions/history, tales of mythology and lore, object-based nonfiction (no biographies), ghosts.” @msmariavicente #MSWL mariavicente.com/representation
Next, @AgentSophieL, who wants a beautifully written love story heart warming and heart breaking in equal measure, a voice driven literary novel that speaks to us now and narrative nonfiction/memoir that offers up a window to another place/moment. More at bit.ly/3bq1wEK
Idk who's been checking in the #MSWL tweets, but just putting it out there, for anyone who's researching and building agent lists: bit.ly/39h6wKf. I will be re-opening to queries on 05/01, and want adult and YA fiction, and non-fiction. Getting there!
Are you writing a feel good novel or non-fiction? That will entertain, let readers mentally escape the Corona crisis and feel positive about the world?

Natascha Morris @SoCalledYALife@alexandraovery @wensday95 Not gonna lie: that poison dress book sounds really cool, now that I have said it. So I am going to say it: a narrative NF about poison and the non-poison uses in history. #MSWL
Retweeting because I need a poison NF book. #MSWL
I started THE RADIUM GIRLS right before this whole business began, which has been weird, but wow, what a stunning, horrifying book. It will enrage, then enrage you more that workers are similarly fighting for humane rights 100 years later. (Also, #MSWL: nonfiction like this.)
